What's the best item you ever found, ruined by being ethereal?

I'm just curious. I've always gotten a chuckle out of people reporting that they found a perfect X item, but it turned out to be ethereal. That is, I chuckled until this AM, when I found:

This is a GREAT BFsin weapon. And those non-eth are not the rarest, which mean that running Hell Meph should give you one fairly quickly. But an eth one is really hard to come by. So, lucky you!
 
I don't find a problem with Ethereal items. They're better than regular ones, for one. When you're done with 'em, you can throw 'em on a merc, or throw it in a stash for an eth grail. Think of eth items as trial versions of items :lol:

I guess I'd have to agree. I'm not much of a merc person and those eth items don't do anything but boost their ressurection cost anyway, so grrrr...

my toughest was an eth flamebellow.
 
I probably hated the eth HoZ and eth Guardian Angel most. I know I can still get to trade them for eth grailers but I'd rather have them normal so my counterpart can actually use them. :)

Yeah, I'm with B_T here...I'd be more than willing to trade for the ethereal Glimmershreds.

The most powerful Eth item I have is Todesfaelle Flamme.
 
My most gutting etheral would have to be my etheral Archnid Mesh. Other etheral elites I've found off the top of my head, Decapitatorx2, Champion Axe, Sacred Targe, Shako, and Boneflame.

That all I can remember off the top of my head.
 
Ive had worse eth items but got so ticked off I left them with the corpses, frustrating losing good utility items being eth.

My phoenix 'sin used an eth String of Ears for all of Hell. belts hardly take any damage. and SoE isn't that hard to get, so just use it while you can.

I always use eth items, even if they eventually break. I mean, otherwise, it's just sitting in your stash unused. what a waste that is.
 
Probably a Cloudcrack. I am not sure anymore. I don't think I ever had a high end unique drop as eth. The Cloudcrack is only an "OK" sword anyways, so I wasn't too sad.
