Hello,

Been quite a few years since the last interation, or frankly any big tournament. This years addition is a bit different than previous and allows a bit more freedom with white/socketables being equipable.

I look forward to a few deaths myself and to see who finds the way to a guardian!

Tournament specific rules:

  1. Your character has random skills and magical+ equipment that they can use as well as your mercenary's equipment. This is not an easy tournament. (Consult tables below if it is your first time rolling, feel free to ask questions and look at other rolls to get an idea if you want to partake on rolling other players up)
    • Each character is rolled a Helm, Armor, Shield, class specific item per the below tables on Random.org
    • All players may use the following equipment: Helm, Ring Mail, Scale Mail, Field Plate, Kite Shield
    • Gloves all options are available for all players
    • Belt slot is: Light Belt
    • Boot slot is: Leather Boots (Boots and Heavy Boots are allowed)
    • Weapons all players may use are: Long Battle Bow, Double Axe, War Staff, Throwing Spear
    • 2 weapons from one or two different weapon types (from the tables below for weapon list)
    • All equipment you can use at magical+ you can use the exceptional/elite versions as well (e.g. Belt slot is Light Belt/Sharkskin Belt/Vampirefang Belt)
    • You are then rolled you skills. One tab is available randomly and the other 2 tabs two skills from each are chosen randomly. (14 total skills to use)
    • White/socketable items are available to use as you see fit, though no runeword can be made from them. (For instance, you could add 3 Rals to a long bow and use it)
  2. You may not roll your own character. It is part of the fun, and you may request another participant to roll up a character, though you might have to wait if they aren't on.
  3. Skills are simplified for this tournament
    • You may use any skill that is acquired via an item. **Shapeshifting to a form is allowed with 1 point to use an ability.
    • Any pre-req skills for a non-available skill is allowed 1 point (example Double Swing is my skill, I can place 1 in bash to access it)
  4. Scoring, last but not least: 3 point for each act completed. If Single Pass +3 points at end of each difficulty.

You will get rolled 1 tab (use random.org or either 1-3 or 1-30 and get your skill tab and then do your two skills tabs. (Example, Amazon rolls a 14, passive and magic all available, then rolls a 1-10 x2 and a 21-30 x2 (reroll any repeats) to get skills a player may use.

Always start left-right and go down. Example: Firebolt (11), Warmth (12), Inferno (13), Blaze (14), Fireball (15), Firewall (16), Enchant (17), Meteor (18), Fire Mastery (19), Hydra (20).


Each character then is rolled a Helm, Armor, Shield, class specific item, and 2 weapons from one or two different weapon types (from the list, if already chosen, reroll)

If the number on a roll you do for another participant is replaced with an *, reroll until you get one that doesn't have one.

Random character rolling rules for weapons (unless player wants specific weapon types rolled.)

Amazon (1)1x Bows and 1x Javelins + random class
Assassin (2)Assassin gets 2x claw + 1 handed weapon roll
Barbarian (3)Random 2 of 1 handed and 1 of two-handed, Spears, polearms, or throwing
Druid (4)Random 1 of 1/2 handed and 1polearms
Necromancer (5)2x Wand and 1x Dagger
Paladin (6)1x Scepter and 1x 1 handed
Sorceress (7)1x Staff and 1x One handed + Class specific


General Rules:

1. D2R is recommended for this tournament, though 1.13/1.14 is allowed for non-D2R owners (May play on PC or console versions, where the SP goes normally please also at PC/X/P/N.) Terror Zones can be utilized as you see fit.
2. Hardcore only
3. Any player setting is allowed
4. No MP
5. Rerunning is allowed, you may also play as single-pass (Please use SP in front of name if we get a character bracket going)
6. You may not re-run a previous difficulty once you leave your current one.
7. You are allowed to go back to a previous difficulty to complete a quest (Imbue, Socket, etc)
8. Any merc allowed. They must use your Armor, Helm, Shield. Weapon is not included in this as it can unfairly balance mercenaries, but you are free to keep mercenary restriction to your rolls.
9. Starter equipment may be used.
10. Replays are allowed, and no maximum tries. You may replay your last roll if you choose too.
11. Some one else must roll you up.
12. Atma/GoMule is allowed as an extended stash only ----D2R all you stash maybe used, including extra tabs.
13*. FAM is allowed
14. No save and exit when your about to bite the dust.
**Not sure if they can be used in D2R

It looks like the armor rolling table got changed a bit and it's kind of split halfway between the armor class and each individual armor type, should we roll 1-3 or 1-15? I always mess something up when rolling, so you may wish to double check me!

I forget what the protocol has been in recent years but I'm guessing no rerolling?

I'll take a random character and just hope it's not a zon (very slowly playing one of those and not having a whole lot of fun...)

@Miron Yes, all.items you can use exceptional and elite versions.

No rerolls at all for this year's journey.

Also gloves slot has no restrictions while in the rules this year all players also may only use a light belt or leather boots that are magical quality or above (exceptional and elite versions too)

Ah, I didn't read through the rules. There are tables for all these still, that's all I went off of. I'll edit my posts where I rolled to cross them out.

Anyway, last random tournament I participated in was also a barb that was extremely strong, thanks in large part to Find Item. Very excited to have that again. Makes up for the Mace Mastery with no ability to use maces....

And so, Slaybraham is born! Never really tried Leap Attack, so going to see how that is, worst case I can respec into something else. He will be single pass.

As I will surely be rereading the rules a few times: Could that what Miron asked about be edited to the starting post? That exceptional and elite types of the item rolls are allowed.

Something that was not actually spelled out: The number of items available varies from character to character as one can roll items from the ”free for all” pool.

Could I have a random (1.14) character please? :)

@skoolbus not sure it helps but the free for all War Staff is a mace in the eyes of Mace Mastery at least in 1.14.

@SirName I added it to the chart as well as made any of the "all player" items an automatic reroll of item.

@skoolbus not sure it helps but the free for all War Staff is a mace in the eyes of Mace Mastery at least in 1.14.

🤯 Well, that certainly changes my opinion of Mace Mastery for Slaybraham. Thanks for letting me know! I'll have to see if I can shop a blue Archon Staff and reroll it.

I've started Slaybraham, about to go into the Tower, but already found a failed unique of an allowed weapon, Short Sword 😅
 
@skoolbus The kite shield is available for all players, so it needs to be re-rolled (I need mine rerolled) and I'll get @Kruemelmonschda.

I edited the section on that last night as it wasn't specified to be an auto rerolled and the strike-through doesn't stay in code, so I replaced the numbers with * and clarified it above the code tables to be a reroll.
