After gauging interest here, it's time for another tournament!
Similar to others in recent years that focused on a combination of magic finding (MF) and rune finding (RF), we're going to do the same here. If you want to check out past tournaments along these lines, see here, here, here or most recently here.
You can participate and run with everything from a pure MF character to a pure RF character, or anything in between really, without having to fear missing out on much. Both rune drops and S&U drops will count towards a single overall score, and top finds in either category will provide similar improvements to your score.
QUICK FACTS
20 HOUR SETS
We run for 20 hours per batch, scoring items within the individual 20 hour sets.
Multiple 20h sets are allowed, but a new set can only be started if the previous one is finished.
Time spent muling in GoMule does not need to be counted towards those 20h.
ALL AREAS & TARGETS ALLOWED
You can run anywhere in the game, in any patch, with any character (as long as it's FAM).
You may also switch between characters and targets as you like, e.g. you can split a 20h set into 10h Pit Berserking, 5h LK chest popping and 5h Cow Necro running if that's what you feell like! However, please see below on scoring tables.
ITEM SCORING
Please note the below scoring tables will be applied for everything – every drop, from any target, in any patch. That's irrespective of whether or not the respective score actually reflects the drop's rarity from the particular target that dropped the item. It also applies to poppables such as LK chests and any type monster in any area. As mentioned in the thread above, the gist of the reasoning for this simplified scoring system is to allow players to run whatever target they want without resulting in scattered categories that are barely filled... and players who choose to run a suboptimal target usually have their own personal reasons to do so, rather than looking for highest MF/RF efficiency.

REPORTING RESULTS
For each 20h batch, we will count only the five highest scoring items. That means either S&Us, runes, or any combination thereof, depending on which items score the highest.
If you ran multiple sets, you may only submit the result of one of them.
Please PM your results to me immediately after you finished running.
Example as to how a reported result should like like:

FINAL REMARKS
I hope we’ll see a good amount of build/target variety and many nice drops as a result.
This being the first farming tournament since the release of D2R, I also hope that we can get a lot of data on how D2R farming looks like when having a proper go at it. Meaning how the annoying D2R loading times actually impact farming efficiency, and whether or not that changes our perspective on the ideal builds for specific targets. In other words, please be encouraged to use a run counter and report how you're doing in D2R!
Finally, when it comes to strategies, past results have shown a tendency of top placements doing well in both categories (S&Us as well as runes), however people that focused on either category came really close, often just 1-2 good drops away from the top scores. So whatever target you'll run, you certainly won't be wasting your time!
