The strangest thing just happened. I was rushing 2 characters through Hell, and reached Duriel. As I braced myself for the combat, and entered the tomb preparing to open a TP, the bug charged towards me and then just died. Outright just died without ever landing a single blow. A non-quest drop too, 2 scrolls and gold, but this is probably explained by the other chars waiting outside the entrance. Didn't affect anything really, the toons that waited outside just entered the tomb and talked to Tyrael.

Btw what do you mean with "non-quest drop"? Duriel doesn't have any quest drop in 1.07. (and neither do the other bosses if you discard Andariel's gems and Baal's goldpile)
Well, that certainly explains my experience with Duriel. Forgot about the lack of quest drops. Bosses aren't too interesting in 1.07, never paid any attention to that.
What Sword would be good for a Barbarian before BK? I could just level him up in Cows/Bloody Foothills, but even that seems quite slow (and will get slower still). Might as well play the guy myself. He's level 56 now. Some other gear tips would be welcomed too.
Well I disagree with that table only with Hell Meph P8. I'll pay attention on that when I rush dudes next time. It might take some time coz I do my HF rushes now in 1.00.

NM was slow because there was TeleHealing Lister for example. I didn't even kill him/her. Baal went to his chamber and left Lister TeleTele there =)
Important questions that are not entirely clear to me:
How do you mule in 1.10a/1.10s? Is there a multi-instance .dll? Is it included in the trenshadow files?
I read this quote by @pharphis : 'I collected the forges in 1.10s itself. Some people do this in 1.10a then forward to 1.10s (requires an ATMA IV tool to convert items from 1.10a to 1.10s iirc) ' ; What does this mean? Can't you mule off the 1.10a runes via TC/IP to a 1.10a lvl 1 char and then open that lvl 1 char in 1.10s?
Has anyone ever tested whether a character that followed the 'Andariel quest-bugging' procedure (i.e. after first killing Andariel you take a TP home and talk to Warriv) in a patch 1.00-1.09 is actually quest bugged when forwarded to 1.10a?
The way I see it there is no need to 'mule' in 1.10s itself since you only ever visit that patch to make beta CtA, everything else that is interesting is in 1.10a. So to make beta CtA you send a mule with 5os weapon, Amn, Ral, Mal, Ist and Ohm to 1.10s and let him make the RW. Then you forward it to modern, mule off the item and delete the mule.
Multi-instance .dlls are in the trenshadow files in the Links sticky, that one was easy.
You need ATS (a to s ) to actually forward from 1.10a to 1.10s. I tested this morning without the tool and got an empty char in 1.10s. You can download the tool together with ATMA IV (necessary to run it) here on the ATMA page. Once you opened the character you want to forward in ATS you open the "File" menu and select the "Convert to 1.10s" option which will convert the character and close it in ATS. Very easy to use and completely justifies playing exclusively in 1.10a and just going to 1.10s to make CtA.
Yes this works, a few people in this thread tested it and so did I now, works like a charm.
Two more things about the betas:
Cold Mastery in 1.10a gives -(5+3*(slvl-1)) Enemy Cold Resist vs. the -(20+5*(slvl-1)) from modern which means that Frozen Orb is not good enough to take out Hephasto reliably. I had to make myself a Hammerdin to collect forges but he is very good at it.
There is a snapshot of the Arreat Summit from around the time 1.10s was released. It includes patch notes for the beta (which the basin wiki doesn't have) and could be interesting to learn more about the beta but also about 1.09. You already saw this @Helvete ?

It apparently does, but I only used it to open ATS. I created a TCP/IP game in order to make the CtA because ATS already seemed sketchy to me, let alone a version of ATMA for a beta patch.
In any case GoMule can't properly read the GUID and even ATMA V isn't correctly displaying it (although it's closer to deadbeef than GoMule)
@m4ke Can you post a readout of 1.07 Ghoulhide and Gravepalm? The wayback machine claims that they have better damage vs. undead in 1.07-1.08 than in 1.09+.

Well that's the funny thing, in 1.14d the AR vs. Undead mod for Ghoulhide is given as 16 but ingame you get 8 per level so here it is divided by 2 instead of 8. At the same time the % ED vs. Undead on Ghoulhide in 1.14d is given as 16 in the files and you get 2 per level ingame i.e. it's divided by 8.

Looks like all items with AR/level (full, vs. undead, or vs. demons) gets four times what you'd expect in (at least) 1.13+. My best guess is that they realized that AR wasn't equivalent to DMG, and changed the divisor for those stats in the item stat calculation process.
Okay, I've got a HC sorc up and running in 1.07. I forwarded her from 1.00 along with some gear (Tarnhelm, rare res+MF amu, Gull, some rare resist body armor, 3xPDia shield, Frostburn, 2x SoJ, Nightsmoke, decent rare boots with resists). Nothing too fancy, but something to get started with. The build is the standard FO+SF.
I did some shopping to get a chromatic shield and body armor with high +life -> I also brought some rushees from 1.00 and used their socket quests until the shopped item got a good amount of sockets. That took a while and many socket quests, but this is what I got in the end:

It takes some time to find a rack which is both stable and drops a worthwhile base item. Usually I check Lower Kurast, Kurast Bazaar and Halls of Pain for useful racks before I reroll the map. Haven't bothered with any other areas (yet). The first useful rack(s) I got were Berserker Axe and Balrog Skin in Lower Kurast. I had wished for a Bone Knife rack first to get some FCR and to speed up future racking, but decided to rack Arkaine's (got it after 14 Sazabi's):
I don't know why the screenie came out like that I think it has something to do with the glide wrapper. The screenshots I take also seem to vary in resolution for no apparent reason.
Next up was a Mythical Sword rack (again in LK) -> it's soooo much easier to rack sets than uniques!
Then I got the Bone Knife rack I had wished for:
Larzuk punched a hole in the Wiz Spike and I dumped a Hel rune inside (got that one from a rushee NM forge). The resist boost allowed me to replace the rare res+MF amu with plain MF amu with higher MF%. Also the resists from Nightsmoke and rare boots became unnecessary -> decided to do some Blood Raven runs:
Mav's Belt = more FRW = faster racking. Also got Aldur's boots there (no screenie) -> more life + FRW.

One of those Tal's armors went to merc via Larzuk. At the moment I have a stable Shako rack in LK. I guess I'll be running that one until I have found couple of golden Shakos. As soon as I get the first Harlequin Crest I will replace the sorcs PTopaz armor with Tal's.
What bases are you guys using for your weapon crafts? I gambled a shadow bow to tro my luck on it. At first I was thinking about using rushee forge rewards from normal difficulty + runes from Qual-Kehk on a hydra bow, but now with the rune ilvl finding I think I'm not going to bother.
Also, is hell Andy with at least 556% MF the best way to get Saracen's?
